Bitumen Emulsion

Bitumen Emulsion

Bitumen emulsion is a low-viscosity liquid made by dispersing bitumen in water and adding an emulsifier. It is used in various applications like road repair, waterproofing, and spraying. Emulsions are easy to handle, store, transport, and apply at lower temperatures, eliminating the need for heating.

Cold techniques also reduce energy consumption and make road construction environmentally friendly. Bitumen emulsions are two-phase systems consisting of bitumen and water, held in suspension by an emulsifier that imparts an electrical charge to prevent coalescing.
